The magic of the osa peninsula
Welcome to one of the wildest places on Earth.
The Osa Peninsula is one of the world’s most biologically rich and ecologically intact regions—a place where ancient rainforest tumbles into the Pacific Ocean, pristine rivers carve through emerald jungle, and life flourishes in extraordinary abundance.
Home to nearly 2.5% of the planet’s biodiversity within a remarkably small footprint, the Osa offers a rare opportunity to experience nature not as a backdrop, but as a living, breathing presence.
Here, scarlet macaws soar overhead, howler monkeys announce the dawn, and vibrant butterflies drift through the forest canopy.
Hidden waterfalls cascade into crystal-clear pools, centuries-old trees stand as silent witnesses to time, and every trail reveals another glimpse of the intricate intelligence woven throughout this extraordinary ecosystem.
This is more than a destination—
it is an invitation to remember
our place within the web of life.
The rainforest has its own rhythm
AS WE ATTUNE, WE RECALIBRATE
and within with greater clarity.
sensing the world around
IT IS NO COINCIDENCE THAT THIS JOURNEY UNFOLDS HERE.
The landscape we inhabit shapes the way we experience ourselves. In the Osa, we are immersed in a world that is vibrantly, unmistakably alive—one that continually draws us into relationship with something larger than ourselves.
This is one of the many reasons we chose this place for Retreat to Remember—not simply as a beautiful place to gather, but as an integral part of the experience itself.
A SANCTUARY WITHIN THE WILD
Tucked deep within the rainforest of Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula, Luna Lodge borders the legendary Corcovado National Park, surrounded by some of the most biologically diverse wilderness on Earth.
Held within protected forest, the lodge offers the rare experience of being deeply immersed in the rainforest while still being beautifully cared for. Open-air spaces invite the sounds and rhythms of the jungle in, while nourishing meals, comfortable accommodations, a swimming pool, and quiet places to rest help us begin to fill our cup.
There is a simplicity to life at Luna Lodge. Wake to the sounds of the forest. Share meals overlooking the canopy while monkeys pass overhead. Sit beneath a cascading waterfall. Watch the sunset over a vast sea of rainforest.
Every detail has been thoughtfully considered so that you can settle in, let go, and luxuriate in the experience.
This will be our home for six nights.
Food as medicine
In Ayurveda, our diet is understood as one of the most powerful influences on our health—capable of nourishing and vitalizing us, but also of contributing to imbalance throughout the body.
At Luna Lodge, this philosophy feels right at home. Three exquisite meals are prepared each day with fresh, organic ingredients, many harvested from the lodge’s own gardens or sourced from local farms, reflecting the vibrant flavors of Costa Rica.
While an “Ayurvedic diet” is often associated with Indian cuisine, the principles of Ayurvedic eating can be applied to any culinary tradition. What makes an approach to food Ayurvedic is not a particular set of dishes or spices, but an understanding of how ingredients, combinations, preparation, quantity, timing, and season uniquely affect our bodies.
Through observing cause and effect, we begin to recognize which choices leave us feeling clear, balanced, and well—and learn to adapt the way we eat in response to our own changing needs.
But nourishment is about more than what we eat. It is also about how we eat—the care with which food is prepared, the environment in which it is enjoyed, and the presence we bring to receiving it.
Here, surrounded by the rainforest, we slow down. We savor. We receive.
Food becomes more than a meal—
It becomes part of the practice.
SPACE TO SIMPLY BE
Between the structured moments of our days, there will be space to follow your own rhythm—to swim, wander, linger over a cup of tea, receive a massage, curl up with a book, take a nap, or simply sit and listen to the rainforest.
Rest is not what happens between the meaningful moments. It is part of them.
Stewards of the wild
Protecting what makes this place extraordinary
Luna Lodge’s commitment extends far beyond hospitality. For decades, the lodge has served as a steward of the surrounding rainforest, rooted in the belief that welcoming people into the wild carries with it a responsibility to protect it.
Sustainability is woven into daily life at Luna—from renewable energy and thoughtful use of resources to conservation efforts and partnerships that support the surrounding community.
To stay here is to support a place committed not only to sharing the beauty of the Osa, but to protecting and preserving it for generations to come.
A place with History
For Retreat to Remember, the choice of Luna Lodge carries a history that reaches far beyond this retreat.
Akacia has known this land since childhood, visiting the Osa before Luna Lodge was built and returning throughout the years as the lodge slowly took shape within the rainforest. She has watched this place grow from an idea into the sanctuary it is today—and has experienced firsthand the care, intention, and devotion that have shaped it along the way.
Luna Lodge was founded by Akacia’s step-aunt, Lana Wedmore, making Akacia’s connection to this place not only longstanding, but deeply personal.
Bringing Retreat to Remember here feels like another chapter in a story that has been unfolding for decades.
Come experience the Osa for yourself.
